Opening:
1. Share your organization and hook in small groups.

2. How do you effectively "tell a story" about a person in 20-24 lines?

3. With your journal, circulate around the room and read through the narratives you didn't read before.

  • What are your "Final Thoughts on Effective Narratives"? Write them down in your journal.


Work Period:
4. Return to the "Devolution" Packet from last week.

  • Let's reread and review accomplished Expository writing.
  • What is "missing" in a proficient essay? (HIGHLIGHT)
  • What is provided in an basic response? (HIGHLIGHT)
  • What makes an expository essay "very limited"? (HIGHLIGHT)


5. In your journal, reflect on what you learned from the devolution.

6. Visit TWO Green Expository essays around the room.  What are your initial thoughts on what you are reading in these "Accomplished" essays?

Closing:



7. Review your Simulation test.  
  • Review the Revising questions (#1-16)
    • Is there anything about the question STEMS that stump you??
    • Highlight the questions you'd like to review tomorrow.
