Opening:
1. Discuss 
  • STAAR Style Rubric
  • Embedded Assessment Rubric (40-41)
2. Read through another Sample and Score it on the Rubric

Work Period:
3.  New Groups.

4. Take turns: Read through ONE Timed Writing together

Questions to consider:

  • Based on the rubrics
    • What are some strengths of the essay?
    • What areas of the rubric should the writer focus on during Revision?
    • What advice would you give the writer?
    • What questions can you ask the writer so that that person improves their personal narrative?
5. After each essay is read, be sure you've discussed all the RADR revisions with the writer.

Closing:
6. Complete #4 on your separate sheet of paper - be ready to revise according to your plan on Wednesday.
