- STAAR Style Rubric
- Embedded Assessment Rubric (40-41)
Work Period:
2. Turn to page 38. Have a loose-leaf piece of paper with you. Take out your Timed Writing (in your folder)
3. Independently Read and Examine your Timed Writing. Know it well.
4. Think Through 3a and 3b and jot down notes on your Timed Writing and on your piece of paper.
5. New Groups.

6. Read through Sample Writing #1
- After you read it one time through, take notes on the essay based on 3a and 3b.
Questions to consider:
- Based on the rubrics
- What are some strengths of the essay?
- What areas of the rubric should the writer focus on during Revision?
- What advice would you give the writer?
- What questions can you ask the writer so that that person improves their personal narrative?
Closing:
7. Complete #4 on your separate sheet of paper - be ready to share your Timed Writing and your Plan tomorrow.
