Choices and Consequences - Article of the Week and Independent Reading #19 follow-up.

1. Film Clip: Absolutes in Action for Description #3.

2. Tonight for homework, complete Description #4.  Use your imagination or visit an outdoor scene - through a window, from your car, in your yard or a park.


Work Period:
3. Share topic sentences in small groups. (Homework Stamp)

4. In small groups, determine which subtopic has the most significance to 
your group members.

  • On a sentence strip, draft a co-constructed topic sentence for the subtopic you've chosen.'
5. Share topic sentences.

6. Create a "working" controlling idea.
  • Based on what you've heard from each group, what is the subject of our essay (smartphone) and what is our opinion on it?

7. Small groups: Draft a fully-detailed paragraph that explains the significance of the functionality you've chosen.
Provide:
  • details
  • facts
  • examples
  • personal anecdotes
  • opinions


Closing:
8. Submit your co-constructed paragraph. 

Homework Reminder: 
Complete Description #4 as it instructs on page 10 in the Brush Strokes packet.
