5. In your groups:
- Brainstorm subtopics
- Determine organization of subtopics
- Draft a controlling idea (a single sentence that determines your opinion on the topic and a direction your essay will take)
6. As a large group, we'll choose one controlling idea and draft the essay tomorrow during class.
