Article of the Week:
1. I will check to see if your work is complete.
2. If so, I will move you to a group and you should discuss the questions members of the group have.
3. If not, sit for 10 minutes and quietly finish your work for the AoW.

Learning Objectives:
I can…

  • share writing in small groups
  • reflect on the revision process
Opening:
1. Show your final draft to a new partner.

2. As a reader, describe what you felt worked for the writing.  Consider:
  • Ideas/Depth of Ideas
  • Organization/Progression of Ideas
  • Conventions and Use of Language

Work Period:
3. Skim and scan back through your original Timed Writing.  Then write about the following on the slip of paper I provide.
  • What are the most significant changes you ended up making?
  • Why did you make the changes?
  • What effect do you think your changes will have on your reader?
4. Staple all parts of the Revision Process together.  Pages 40-41 on top. Then the final draft and reflection.  Followed by your PLAN and revisions.  The Timed Writing should be on the bottom.

Closing:

5. Over the holiday break - you have Extra Credit Independent Reading.

  • If you are behind on your total number of books, go to the library or take a few books from our Book Share, then catch up!
  • 14-21 "Notes on Reading" entries due when you return.
