Learning Objectives:

• Unpack an Embedded Assessment for key knowledge and skills
• identify choices made daily
• brainstorm and categorize ideas
• draft a response about a significant choice

Opening:

1. While I check page 5, Review the Learning Focus and the Embedded Assessment.

• What did you highlight?
• What are the key skills and knowledge you'll need to be successful.

2. Create a web-organizer in your journal that is titled: "Revising a Personal Narrative about Choice"

3. Create a poster.

4. In your journal, brainstorm: 

• Choices your have made
• Choices that have been made for you

5. Tonight: Work on the inside of your Folder

Work Period:

6. Read "You" aloud on page 8.

7. Brainstorm the kinds of choices you make everyday (on a normal day) in your journal.

• What "clusters" exist?  
• Transfer cluster categories to page 8, then add small spokes off to the side of each category.

Closing:

8. Respond to the quickwrite in your journal.

9. Share response with a partner.
