Warm-Up:
1. Login again. With your group, copy down the THREE passages that contain figurative language into #5.
2. Write a few favorites on construction paper and post on the wall outside.
3. Discuss/Explain why each is a group favorite.
Work Period:
4. Language and Writer's Craft: Figurative Language.
- Review the Samples, then try your own as a small group (#1-3).
5. Complete #4 - Review the sample, underline where figurative language could be added, then add it to a sentence below or on a sticky note.
Handback - 2.5 and 2.6.
6. Locate a piece of writing you've done this unit or in POETRY sessions.
- Underline a place that would benefit from figurative language.
- Add figurative language
