    • What do you notice about the Core Sentence?
    • What do you notice about the sentence with Absolute Brush Strokes?
      • what are the nouns?
      • what are the -ing words?
    • What do you notice about writing with Absolutes?
      • write your response at the bottom of page 6.
    • Which kind(s) of writing can you use Absolutes in?
      • Expository?
      • Narrative?
Closing:
8. On page 4 of the packet, locate the CORE SENTENCE.
  • Read #1 and determine why the following sentence is considered a Core Sentence: "The elephant charged the lions."
  • What are the characteristics of a core sentence?
9. In your essays, find two or three core sentences.
  • Copy each core sentence down at the top of a CLEAN sheet.  So, on the upper line of each "right" page in your notebook, copy down a core sentence.
