2. Discussion of Two Expository Essays from 2013.

3. Large Group Discussion

  • How can the same words convey different meanings?
    • "Sit here"

4. Four Volunteers (page 278 #1)
  • Sentence 1, Four Emotions
  • Sentence 2, Four Emotions

5. How did each person communicate the emotion in the sentence?

6. What other emotions are sometimes evident in people actions and words? (#2)

7. Small Groups:

  • Using one of the two sentences demonstrated before, think of how you could perform the same sentence with a NEW emotion we haven't seen yet.
  • Rehearse, then deliver the lines
Closing:
8. Consider an emotion that you saw and heard expressed by the other group, answer #3 on 278 and FILL OUT the graphic organizer on page 279.
  • Use evidence from the performances you witnessed.
